We wanted to update you on the current situation at Lime Cross along with our reopening decisions. Following the government’s announcement a few weeks ago stating that garden centres could reopen we made the difficult decision to remain closed. We have subsequently decided to remain closed to walk in customers and to focus on our online service and by appointment only visits. Our click and collect service is running very smoothly, Vicky & Anita are getting orders out within a few days and as always are on hand to provide advice. We are also offering a range of delicious cream tea, picnic & BBQ boxes from Olives Café, Kate in the kitchen has been an absolute star and customers have been so positive about this service. We have some more members of the café team re-joining in a few weeks which will allow us to expand on the café offerings, so please e mail us with any suggestions and check our social media channels and website if you can.
We continue to stock a large range of high-quality plants, garden sundries & eclectic gifts, a large proportion of which are available on our website, listing all of our products is a mammoth task so please bear with us and please do not hesitate to ask if you can’t find a product listed.

We are so sad to have to let you know that we have had to make 70% of our team redundant, this has been the hardest decision we have ever had to make. We spent a lot of time forecasting financials and thoroughly researched what would be involved to reopen as we were before and concluded that this would not be financially viable for us. we have managed to retain some roles and hope to reach out to the rest of the team should we manage to grow sales over the next months and create more jobs.
This is a new, unexpected chapter for us, we have had to change our business model in a short amount of time but want to reassure out customers that our core values remain the same.
Whilst the very recent news appears to be more positive in terms of containing the pandemic, we are all faced with overwhelming uncertainty. We want to create a safe space for our staff and customers and feel that the only way for us to do this viably is by offering appointment only slots.
For many years we have prided ourselves on offering an exceptional service in our field, in terms of our products and our highly experienced and knowledgeable staff members. We have also reflected on our customers’ needs and personal circumstances and feel that many of our customers do fall into the ‘vulnerable’ category and with this in mind we hope that this new bespoke, safe shopping experience will be appealing.

Unfortunately, all Wellbeing in the Wild events are cancelled for this summer, we are so sorry to disappoint everyone, we really hope to run everything next year.
New Opening Hours in the Garden Centre
We are open for appointments only from 10 am- 3 pm Monday- Friday, Saturday 10 am- noon.
Please get in touch if you need an appointment outside of these hours and we will do our best to accommodate you, but as we are just a small team so cannot guarantee.

Health Status of our Customers
If you are not feeling great, we ask you to postpone your visit with us until you’re feeling better.
Health Status of Employees
We are closely monitoring the health of our employees and any member of staff who presents any symptoms however mild will not be allowed to work, with their sick pay remuneration taking effect.
We also urge our customers to be mindful of personal space as ‘The World Health Organization’ says keeping at least one metre apart from someone who might be coughing, or sneezing will help stop the coronavirus spreading.
Hand Sanitiser on Arrival, Throughout and on Departure
You will see we have installed hand sanitiser at the entrance to the shop and café as well as by our till points, which we are asking our staff and customers to use upon arriving and regularly whilst on the premises and on departure.
Card Payment Only
We will not be accepting cash payments as from today. The World Health Organisation said the British public should exercise care when handling potentially infectious banknotes. When asked whether banknotes could be spreading coronavirus, a WHO spokesman replied: “Yes it’s possible, we know that money changes hands frequently and can pick up all sorts of bacteria and viruses and things like that”.
Enhanced Cleaning & Hygiene Measures
We have increased our cleaning routines to ensure the areas around the café, shop and garden centre where there is greater customer usage, ie. inside and outside door handles, card machines, are all sanitised regularly throughout the day on top of our daily cleaning routines. Extra sanitising products have been brought in on top of our usual cleaning products to ensure safety. You will see notices up in our toilets to highlight the importance of hand washing, we have also installed disposable hand towels.
This is not an easy time for anyone at the moment, it is a dynamic situation and will continue to evolve. We appreciate your co-operation at this time. Please continue to come and see us!
