Abies are evergreen conifers, widespread in Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and North Africa. Often very tall, with spiralled branches bearing flattened, linear leaves. The seed-cones stand upright on the branches unlike Spruces which have pendulous cones. Young cones are very eye-catching, ranging in colours from white, green, blueish violet and a purple red.

Abies koreana 'Oberon' is a very slow growing, wide pyramid shaped conifer with very short nearly square dark green foliage and attractive white buds in winter. Looks great in a container and in small gardens. A favourite here at Lime Cross. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
