Abies are evergreen conifers, widespread in Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and North Africa. Often very tall, with spiralled branches bearing flattened, linear leaves. The seed-cones stand upright on the branches unlike Spruces which have pendulous cones. Young cones are very eye-catching, ranging in colours from white, green, blueish violet and a purple red.

Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Abies Koreana ‘Tundra’ is a dwarf variety of Korean fir. It creates an almost perfect cushion of soft green colour. This dwarf conifer is evergreen, very compact, slow growing and a mound-forming shrub with bright green needles whose colour remains fresh from January until December.
