Abies koreana 'Kohouts Icebreaker' is a dwarf cultivar of Korean fir. Its parent plant is 'Horstmann's Silberlocke', 'Kohouts Icebreaker' has the same distinctive strongly-curled needles with mesmerising silvery undersides. Branches are short, stubby and radial. Young plants will be globose and then will develop a leader shoot, eventually becoming a small squat tree. Typical growth rate in is 1 to 3 inches (2.5 Ð 7.5 cm) per year, resulting in a shimmering silvery specimen, 2 feet (60 cm) tall and wide after 10 years in the garden.
