Genus The spruces are evergreen trees with a single trunk and regular annual tiers of horizontal branches forming a narrow to conical crown. They are found across the northern hemisphere, as a major constituent of the boreal forest above and below the Arctic Circle southwards down the main mountain chains of Europe, North America and Asia.
Details Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Picea orientalis 'Aureospicata' this tall, dramatic spruce has short, dark green needles on its branches which burst with beautiful chartreuse growth in spring. This display remains until midsummer, when the spring growth fades into forest green. This tree is the perfect specimen for a focal point feature of the garden.
