Genus The spruces are evergreen trees with a single trunk and regular annual tiers of horizontal branches forming a narrow to conical crown. They are found across the northern hemisphere, as a major constituent of the boreal forest above and below the Arctic Circle southwards down the main mountain chains of Europe, North America and Asia.
Details Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Picea bicolor ‘Alcoquiana’ is the most colorful of all bi-colored forms, displays needles with bright, silver-blue undersides, green tops and a tint of yellow on the most exposed surfaces. A flat-topped bush when young, it eventually develops into a pyramidal tree, or you can maintain its flat form by removing upward shoots.
