Chamaecyparis is a genus of evergreen conifers in the cypress family Cupressaceae, native to eastern Asia and to the western and eastern margins of the United States. They grow in cool temperate conifer forests, or in mixed conifer-broadleaf forest, from sea level to montane. The name is derived from the Greek khamai (χαμαί), meaning "on the earth", and kuparissos (κυπάρισσος) for cypress.

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Wisselii' is an irregular narrow evergreen conifer with short sprays of dark blue-green foliage and small but conspicuous crimson male cones in spring. This is the faster growing big sibling to ‘Wisselii Saguaro’. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
