Genus The spruces are evergreen trees with a single trunk and regular annual tiers of horizontal branches forming a narrow to conical crown. They are found across the northern hemisphere, as a major constituent of the boreal forest above and below the Arctic Circle southwards down the main mountain chains of Europe, North America and Asia.
Details Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Picea orientalis 'Golden Start' is a dwarf, upright, pyramidal selection of Caucasian spruce with dense uniform branching and foliage that flushes bright gold in the spring, later darkening to species typical dark green, but retaining a bit of golden frosting on the upper parts of the branches.
