Abies are evergreen conifers, widespread in Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and North Africa. Often very tall, with spiralled branches bearing flattened, linear leaves. The seed-cones stand upright on the branches unlike Spruces which have pendulous cones. Young cones are very eye-catching, ranging in colours from white, green, blueish violet and a purple red.

Abies koreana 'Green Carpet’ is a low spreading cultivar forming a dwarf cushion shape. Short and stubby branches are adorned with bright green needles in the Spring which turn a darker shade of green in the Summer. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
