Abies are evergreen conifers, widespread in Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and North Africa. Often very tall, with spiralled branches bearing flattened, linear leaves. The seed-cones stand upright on the branches unlike Spruces which have pendulous cones. Young cones are very eye-catching, ranging in colours from white, green, blueish violet and a purple red.

Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Abies Koreana 'Silberkugel' is a compact cushion or mound forming, slow-growing, evergreen coniferous shrub with short, broadly linear, slightly twisted, grey-green leaves, silvery beneath. This has been grafted on to a stem of approx. 30cm
Soil Type: Acid, alkaline, heavy clay, light sandy, normal.
