Genus Abies are evergreen conifers, widespread in Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and North Africa. Often very tall, with spiralled branches bearing flattened, linear leaves. The seed-cones stand upright on the branches unlike Spruces which have pendulous cones. Young cones are very eye-catching, ranging in colours from white, green, blueish violet and a purple red.
Details Abies koreana ‘Silver Show’ has tightly curled shoots that are almost cylindrical, exposing the extremely white undersides. The contrasting dark purple cones stand out against the foliage making it an unusual and bold feature for any garden. A great addition to the small garden.
