Abies pinsapo 'Glauca'
Compact White Fir
Abies are evergreen conifers, widespread in Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and North Africa. Often very tall, with spiralled branches bearing flattened, linear leaves. The seed-cones stand upright on the branches unlike Spruces which have pendulous cones. Young cones are very eye-catching, ranging in colours from white, green, blueish violet and a purple red.
Abies pinsapo 'Glauca' is an RHS award winning tree. A majestic slow-growing medium tree with blunt blue-green needles looks wonderful in all garden settings. The cones are a pale green or purple when young ripening brown as they age. A real favourite here at Lime Cross. Ideal for a border or a feature tree in the garden. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
