Abies are evergreen conifers, widespread in Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and North Africa. Often very tall, with spiralled branches bearing flattened, linear leaves. The seed-cones stand upright on the branches unlike Spruces which have pendulous cones. Young cones are very eye-catching, ranging in colours from white, green, blueish violet and a purple red.

Abies procera 'Noble's Dwarf’ has a mound-like shape and crowded needles that are flat, blunt and blue. A great smaller fir specimen that adds a beautiful blue detail to any garden. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
