Chamaecyparis is a genus of evergreen conifers in the cypress family Cupressaceae, native to eastern Asia and to the western and eastern margins of the United States. They grow in cool temperate conifer forests, or in mixed conifer-broadleaf forest, from sea level to montane. The name is derived from the Greek khamai (χαμαί), meaning "on the earth", and kuparissos (κυπάρισσος) for cypress.

Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Moonsprite' is an upright growing, dome-shaped plant with bright yellow foliage, which is especially bright in the spring. This conifer will grow around 1m in 10 years making it perfect for planting in a small garden or rockery.
