Chamaecyparis is a genus of evergreen conifers in the cypress family Cupressaceae, native to eastern Asia and to the western and eastern margins of the United States. They grow in cool temperate conifer forests, or in mixed conifer-broadleaf forest, from sea level to montane. The name is derived from the Greek khamai (χαμαί), meaning "on the earth", and kuparissos (κυπάρισσος) for cypress.

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Saffron Spray' (Hinoki Cypress) is a slow growing compact broadly conical bush with dark green foliage and small light yellow flecks. A pretty little conifer. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
