Chamaecyparis is a genus of evergreen conifers in the cypress family Cupressaceae, native to eastern Asia and to the western and eastern margins of the United States. They grow in cool temperate conifer forests, or in mixed conifer-broadleaf forest, from sea level to montane. The name is derived from the Greek khamai (χαμαί), meaning "on the earth", and kuparissos (κυπάρισσος) for cypress.

Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Chamaecyparis nootkatensis ‘Jubilee’ grows into an extremely narrow form with deep, rich green foliage. With age, the fast-growing trees develop fascinating character. Each has an upright, spire-like main trunk and gracefully draping branches that look like arms. The majestic tree produces secondary sub-leaders, forming a grove-like cluster of uprights.
